Our 200 Unit Donors

Patricia (Patsy) Carolyn Rice

Milestone Donation: 200
Milestone Date: 10/16/2006
Milestone Place: Seattle
City Where Donor Lives: Shoreline

Why I Donate: When one of the phlebotomists explained it was just as important for those of us with "common, garden variety" blood types (mine is A-positive) to donate - because of the large percentage of the population with that type of blood - as it was to have donors for rare blood types (ABnegative, etc.), I recognized it was just such donors who saved my life when I almost hemorrhaged to death following our first child's birth. I knew I could quietly make a difference and save someone else's life by regularly donating to the community blood supply.
