Why I Donate: As a child, I remember my father being 'saved' for live donations during surgery (in the 1940s & 1950s). And we lived near a small town where 'everything' - fire dept., etc., was 'volunteer.' So I grew up valuing donating - blood, time, efforts for the common good. And besides, I have never been 'scared' of needles and was a certified medical assistant for an internist for 30 years in downtown Seattle.
